Alumni Weekend 2023

The weather was AMAZING for alumni weekend. It felt like our first dose of real sunshine in a while. The event was very well attended with lots of people to see and things to do. A big thank you to all of the Symons Alumni who stopped in to say HI today!

Some of our students are part of the business and entrepreneurship class and sold their treats at the student led marketplace. It was a great experience for them and their products were a hit.

Our graduates also received their Grad Bears after chapel this morning.

The next couple of weeks will see many kids writing their AP exams and then we enter our final term of the year (Term 6) on May 6!

Proud Week for Symons House

As we settled back into our routine from adventures over the break, all boarding students participated in House games. We are pleased to report that Symons crushed it this weekend, and bumped ourselves all the way up to second place! It turns out, we are exceptionally good at handball and kickball. The girls also got to showcase their teamwork skills with Harvey House.

In addition, our beautiful Symons Stars hoodies have arrived, and after representing them with pride at House games, they have been the official sweater of the week throughout the house.

Symons House had an impressive and outstanding representation of art on display this week. The showcase had its Opening Night event on Tuesday evening this past week, with live music, snacks, and beverages. For the remainder of the week, Art features were showcased and displayed for all to see.

Symons is filled with leaders and role models. The girls have highlighted some characteristics that are valued by them and within our house, and compiled a core list.

Thanks for tuning in to Symons blog!

First Saturday Post Spring Break

The grade 11s were off with Ms. Catto and Ms. Mulvihill for the annual Symons House Leadership Retreat. They spent their time at the Oswego Hotel where they reflected on their leadership skills and areas of strength and weakness. They made some great progress on a plan for Symons House in September!!

Our Saturday In House activity was cooking and baking. The girls made pizza from scratch and while they waited for the dough to rise they baked some chocolate chip and mini egg cookies.
